Playtime at the Park
Abby and I really needed to get out of the house today! It has been a pretty long week with all the rain and bad weather. So since it wasn't raining we hit a local park for some running around and fun!
Her first experience on the swings went well. She laughed at the new experience with delight!
We tried out this other kind of swing which she also enjoyed, but when I took her out of it so another little girl we went to the park with could have a turn, she decided to wriggle out of my arms and walk right back. The swing hit her right in the forehead, and she has her first goose egg. That didn't phase her for long though.........
She moved on to enjoy playing on the seesaw.
Our first real trip to the park was a success!

Parade!
Well, this past weekend our city had a Celebrate (our city) Parade. It was close enough to us to be able to walk to. And, even though it was a scorcher of a day on Saturday we had a great time.
Here is the only Colorguard I saw.(There wasn't a marching band, so I was sad.) Maybe had our Colorguard back in high school had to wear cheerleader uniforms we wouldn't have been nick-named the cattleguard. (I know I wouldn't have gone out for Colorguard had I had to wear one, and I was 30 lbs lighter in high school than I am now!)

13 months
Today Abby is 13 months old! We have had quite a fun week. Up here in the Seattle area we have experienced record/or almost record high temperatures! So, Abby and I have spent our days finding beaches, and swimming holes!
No, I'm not scared! Abby climbed right in to the wading pool at a friend's house. She didn't quite have her footing and rolled in on her back. Didn't even phase her. She just sat up and laughed!Abby has also found the joy in dirt. I forgot my camera a couple days ago when we went to the beach. I really wished I had it because Abby decided that digging into the sand with her hands, and then throwing said sand into the air was great fun. Tonight we decided to play out in the yard, and Abby found the gravel by the front porch, and went at it! She was covered from head to toe in dirt. Anything to get a bath, I'm sure.
What, who me? I'm not doing anything wrong!
What a fun age she's at!

Speaking of.......
not mentioning what happens when I forget to close the bathroom door.
Yesterday, I was rushing about trying to get the house somewhat organized and tidied up before Gerritt came home from his trip. Again, I wasn't paying too much attention to Abby because she simply likes to play by herself sometimes, and I didn't realize I had left the bathroom door open. I was getting dinner in the oven and I hear splashing water. "Oh NO!" I think as I run to the bathroom. (I saw the camera on the counter and brought it along just for fun!) This is what I find. Not only is Abby playing in the icky toilet water, but the whole front side of her is drenched!

She thinks she's pretty cute! As she laughs at me. Silly kid! (I guess I'd better learn my lesson from this one!)
