5 Months

I can't believe how much our little Abby has grown up! These last five months sure have gone FAST!

Abby rarely smiles for the camera anymore. She now just looks up at it inquisitively.

Let it Snow!

The first snow of the season came today, so we thought we'd let Abby check it out first-hand. She didn't enjoy the wetness of the snow, or the cold breeze too much, but she did like her new coat!

Abby just never seems to get enough from milk alone anymore, so we tried feeding her some very diluted rice cereal. She LOVED it! She has been looking forward to her more grown-up food everyday now. (The days of easy, clean, feedings are history! Too bad, "sigh")

Abby's First Thanksgiving!

This weekend has been so busy that it has been hard to find the time to post an update! We had an enjoyable Thanksgiving on Thursday, but we didn't get too many pictures of Abby with relatives because she is going through a phase where she doesn't like anyone except Mommy and Daddy. I'm sure Abby will like you all more once she's out of this stage! ;-)

4 Months

Abby is four months old today! She had a well-baby check-up and immunizations. Those shots are still not fun. (For me, or Abby.)

Abby tipped the scales at 13 lbs. 7 oz. and is 25 in. long! She's going to be a tall skinny girl!

Oh, the Nature all around!

On Saturday we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma. It was such a nice day, and all Abby did was stare out the window mesmerized by the tree. So, we took her outside to look at all the new and exciting things Mother Nature had to offer.

Right after Grandma took the picture of Abby looking at the rose, Abby must have thought the rose looked appetizing because she grabbed it and pulled it directly towards her mouth! (Luckily Mommy caught her just in time!) I know, I know! Mommy is NO FUN!!!

First trip to the Zoo!

We took Abby on her first trip to the zoo today. She slept most of the time, but we enjoyed ourselves. This weekend trip is the third anniversary of our first-ish date. (We had actually been on one other date, but the zoo was our first "fun, planned" date.)

3 Months

Abby is three months old now. Time sure does fly when you're having fun. Abby is so vocal now, and enjoys putting everything she can find in her mouth. We sure are glad that she isn't crawling yet, or our whole house would be a drool trail!

Abby is just starting to enjoy playing with toys, but it's the same story. They all end up in her mouth!

Two Months

Abby has turned two months old, and with that came the dreaded first round of immunizations! On Friday she got six immunizations, three shots and an oral. She was such a trooper and didn't realize what was going on until the third shot, and then she screamed! I think watching Abby get the shots hurt me more than her, but we both survived. She is still growing: She is now 23 1/4 in. long, and 10lbs. 1 oz. That's almost three inches since she was born!!!

She wasn't very happy with me when we got back home after the Dr. appt.

A Special Weekend

We blessed Abby over Labor Day weekend. She was so happy and oh so cute in her dress. We enjoyed having friends and family over to celebrate with us. Abby had fun being passed around between Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles. When the family was gone on Tuesday, Abby left Mommy wondering where all those extra hands went. She sure could use them!

Six weeks in the making!

Well, we finally did it! We have wanted to start a blog since Abby was born, but have not found the time. We hope you all enjoy our family updates.

These past six weeks since Abby was born have been the most of every imaginative adjectives you can think of........sleepy, happy, crazy, adorable, and memorable. (Mostly sleepy!) Each new day comes with a new adventure.

Gerritt and I are currently enjoying every smile and coo that Abby will give us. It seems that her smiles get bigger, and her cooing more sweet.
