Pumpkin Patch

Today we were able to go to a local pumpkin patch together as a family. It was an ECE activity for Abby & her class. It was one of those 'perfect' autumn days.  We had so much fun!

...will be boys. Gerritt has had Ben outside with him this afternoon helping with yardwork. Ben is in heaven! Boys...

To Gerritt! I love my wonderful husband more & more each day. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough candles so I had to improvise. Can you guess how old Gerritt is today? Hahaha! I love you hubs!

Zoo day!

Got to spend the day with my sisters at the zoo today. Wish Amy was here though.

Sister time....

Got to spend some fun time with my lil sis tonight. First bowling, then ice cream! Yay for sisters!

First day of summer break.

Today we spent the day at Point Defiance zoo! Most the animals were out, and the kiddos had so much fun. By far, the best zoo trip to date!

Since Abby's birthday happens in the summer when school is out, her class celebrated today! We sent m&m cookies, and kazoos for her class! Abby loved it, and is a little sad that tomorrow is her last day till September. That's okay, we have plenty of fun stuff planned this summer.

The great outdoors.

Ben loves being outside. He would gladly sit in dirt for hours...as long as he got to eat some. This morning after Abby got on the bus, Ben did not want to go inside. So, we played outside for a few minutes. HEAVEN! (for Ben anyway)

Oh pumpkins...

...a couple weeks ago Abby planted some pumpkins in the house. Well tonight for FHE we are planting them outside. Abby is über excited. As you can see, Ben is less than impressed.(he just wants some dirt to eat...I'm such a mean mom.)

The silliness...

Comes out when the sun does. Abby's attire for school...shorts, t-shirt, sunglasses, & don't forget the jacket.

Preschool Field Day

Today Abby had a field day at Auburn High School. It was sponsored by the Special Olympics. There were obstacle courses, and lots of fun! At the end, all the kids got medals, and a snack.

Abby was really tired by the end, and gave me a 'look' when I asked for just one more picture.

Impromptu picnic

With it being such a beautiful day outside, Abby asked if we could eat lunch outside. So, we spread out a blanket and are now enjoying the sunshine.

His shoes used to keep his socks on. Little stinker has figured out how to take off his shoes.

Check...

Abby wanted to draw a picture this afternoon. So we got all the supplies out. She wouldn't start until she took inventory. Paper,check. Markers,check. Crayons, check check check. This kid is hilarious!

Look!

I have been wanting to re-invent how we use our space in our home. I've wanted more seating too. So for Mother's Day, Gerritt got me a new couch! I love it. I'm still in the process of getting the rest of the house the way I want. I'll keep you posted.

Better Scoot along...

One day last week Abby came home from school so excited! It had been her turn at recess to ride the scooter. It has been all she has talked about since. So, we got one for her. Today is the maiden voyage. She LOVES it! Don't worry, she has to stay on the back patio until we pick out a helmet and safety gear. This summer is gonna ROCK!

FHE Seattle style

One of my best friends came into town for business, so we met her for dinner on the Seattle waterfront. I love looking out onto the sound when the sun is out. The kiddos enjoyed it too! I need to bring the kids here more often.

Pre-Easter Fun

Today we had an egg hunt in our backyard with cousins. The kiddos had so much fun.

Sunshine!

Today has turned into a nice sunny day. So, as soon as Abby got home from school we left to have a picnic and play at the park. Abby had so much fun with friends, and Ben decided grass isn't quite as bad as he thought.
I just enjoyed sitting in the sun, soaking up some vitamin D.

Flowers...

What a beautiful day today! Abby and I spent part of the afternoon planting flowers. We had so much fun!

...Captain Awesome! I love these pj's on Ben. He wears them well, and has  the perfect personality for them.

Exhausted

It has been a long week. Abby thinks she doesn't need naps anymore, so by the time bed time rolls around, she is pretty unmanageable. Tonight she didn't want to go to sleep, so after prayers and stories we left her to her own devices. When we went up to go to bed, this is where we found her. Fast asleep IN her toy chest!

PJ day

We're having a pj day today. Allergies have hit our house hard. Abby was throwing up all day yesterday from coughing so hard. Ben's poor nose keeps running.
Abby decided to bring ALL her blankets down to the living room and made a bed/nest. Silly girl.

SB: last day

Finally a sunny day! We went to Point Defiance Zoo. The kiddos had a blast! We are looking forward to coming a lot this summer!

Today started out with breakfast at Denney's. The kids loved it! Then we went shopping for Easter outfits. Abby insisted that her 'abby bear' also needed an Easter dress. Now we just need to coordinate something for Ben.

Spring break..

...day 1. A rainy trip to Costco. Hoping for better weather the rest of the week.

Gerritt let me get out for a couple of hours this evening with my sweet sister-in-law. This is what I found them doing when I got home. They were playing Pirates, and making everyone walk the plank.

...in paradise! Ben loves to read books. Or eat them, you decide. Oh, by the way, I love that I can blog from my phone now. Maybe I'll be better now about keeping up.
