Weeping, Wailing.......

....and cutting of teeth!
These past few days have been some of the longest of my life. Gerritt has been away on a business trip, and I have been with Abby 24/7. This is only different from normal because there is no back-up parent.

Here's Abby and I just hanging out!

Besides the cutting of a molar......and more are coming (Her gums are totally swollen), Abby has been a total sweetheart. She is getting to be quite the mischievous little girl. Yesterday, I got Abby contentedly playing with her toys so that I could get the dishes done. (I know shocker!) Here's what happened. After a while I noticed that there was no more noisy toy sounds. I thought hmmmmm.......this can't be good. As I walk back into the living room to check on Abby, I see her sitting in the middle of fish crackers strewn about the whole area. Apparently she had somehow managed to un-zip the diaper bag, find the container of crackers, AND open it! "Hey Abby, what are you doing?" I ask in the sweetest voice I can muster. Abby just turns her head, and smiles up at me with crackers falling out of her mouth, and crumbs all over her face! I melt and laugh because she is just too cute to be mad at.

And, just this morning I ran into another fun mess. I must have forgotten to close the gate to the kitchen because that is where I found her. I had been finishing getting ready for the day, and again there was that silence........... I walk into the kitchen only to find Abby sitting on the floor pulling the plastic freezer bags out of the box like tissue. Again I get the mischievous little smile that melts my heart and I just laugh and clean up!

Let's not go into what happens when I forget to close the bathroom door!

Oh yeah, one of Abby's favorite things to do is play on the couch, and look out the big windows. She is fascinated with all things outdoors!

In other news Abby has begun walking. She still crawls a bit (it's still faster for her), but has been getting more steady on her feet.

Not too shabby huh? At this rate she'll be running by the time Gerritt gets home!

One Year Pro Photos

So here are a few of Abby's One Year photos. Sorry they're a bit late. I also think that I could have done these myself with some new photog equiptment, but alas, I'll need to wait awhile before I can get that!

Isn't she too cute?

Three Years!

Gerritt and I were married three years ago in the Seattle, WA LDS Temple. A lot has happened since then........kid, jobs, surgery etc. But, the one constant is knowing that we will be together for eternity. I love that thought. I can't imagine my life without this wonderful man.
Here are some of my favorite pics from our event.
Our Engagement Pic (Yay! my mom had a digital and e-mailed it to me!)
Aren't the angles of this pic great?

Kissy, kissy, smoochy, smoochy!

I'm not sure what that plant was, but I love the look.

I love you Gerritt!

Cake Time (More party pics!)

Here is the cake I made for Abby.
It is a yellow cake with pink frosting. I added the flowers to go with the island luau theme.

"Ummmm, what am I supposed to do now?"

Abby wasn't sure about the candle even though I've been teaching her to blow on her food.

She was really excited after I stuck her finger in the frosting and let her try out the sugary goodness!

"Yum.....Birthday cake is good and messy!"

"Hey! I'm all done here." Unfortunately, this is the messiest the cake got. After a couple of minutes Abby got bored and started watching everybody else.

Oh well, maybe next year we'll have a mess.

Birthday Party Fun

It has been a very busy week. Abby had her first birthday, and I have been planning a Luau in celebration! But first, Abby has some new stats:

Height: 30 in. 75th percentile

Weight: 20lb 5oz 40th percentile

Well, she's getting to be a tall skinny gal. (She comes by it honestly.)

Here is the invitation that was sent out. (except I printed it out on yellow paper, and had a background border of a salmon pink-ish.)

Aloha! Welcome to the party! The Birthday Girl!

The Spread: It included pulled-pork sandwiches, vegetable kabobs, grilled pineapple, raspberry lemonade & Sprite, with pineapple cupcakes, and coconut or mango ice cream for dessert!

Abby got a lot of fun presents. Thanks for the loud toys!

Cousin Landon had fun helping Abby open her gifts. So cute!

The Whole Fam! We had a great time!

I can't believe how much she has grown, and what a great personality she has developed!

Abby, I sure love that smile!

Take a trip down Memory Lane

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.EVERYBODY PLAY! I want to see what memories are out there!

Happy 4th of July!

Abby's first 4th of July was totally fun! We weren't sure what to expect from her. We started our day off by attending a neighborhood BBQ with Gerritt's mom in her area. It was fun to meet new people and eat great food. Abby even enjoyed playing on the grass........well, she's warming up to it!
Later in the day we met up with Alan, Angie, Brittney, and Tristan to watch the fireworks display at Lake Meridian. We had a blast!

Here are a few pictures of all of us just hanging out waiting for the fireworks! 1st we have Abby displaying her flag t. 2nd is Abby and I.(Doesn't she have the cutest expressions?) 3rd pic is of Gerritt, Abby, and I. Next one is Alan, Angie, and kids. Last, but not least, is Abby with Grandma! Abby can be such a ham when the camera turns on......and let's be honest.....she is the most photogenic!

Here is a video of the grand finale, and all through the fireworks display Abby slept!
