These past few days have been some of the longest of my life. Gerritt has been away on a business trip, and I have been with Abby 24/7. This is only different from normal because there is no back-up parent.
Here's Abby and I just hanging out!
Besides the cutting of a molar......and more are coming (Her gums are totally swollen), Abby has been a total sweetheart. She is getting to be quite the mischievous little girl. Yesterday, I got Abby contentedly playing with her toys so that I could get the dishes done. (I know shocker!) Here's what happened. After a while I noticed that there was no more noisy toy sounds. I thought hmmmmm.......this can't be good. As I walk back into the living room to check on Abby, I see her sitting in the middle of fish crackers strewn about the whole area. Apparently she had somehow managed to un-zip the diaper bag, find the container of crackers, AND open it! "Hey Abby, what are you doing?" I ask in the sweetest voice I can muster. Abby just turns her head, and smiles up at me with crackers falling out of her mouth, and crumbs all over her face! I melt and laugh because she is just too cute to be mad at.
And, just this morning I ran into another fun mess. I must have forgotten to close the gate to the kitchen because that is where I found her. I had been finishing getting ready for the day, and again there was that silence........... I walk into the kitchen only to find Abby sitting on the floor pulling the plastic freezer bags out of the box like tissue. Again I get the mischievous little smile that melts my heart and I just laugh and clean up!
Oh yeah, one of Abby's favorite things to do is play on the couch, and look out the big windows. She is fascinated with all things outdoors!
Not too shabby huh? At this rate she'll be running by the time Gerritt gets home!
