Hmmmm.....

We have had a pretty busy past week or so. Last Saturday, not yesterday, it was a gorgeous day out. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some cute Easter pics of Abby. But, I wanted to see how she would react to sitting on the grass. Not too great as you can see. She's not a big fan of grass yet.
We also decided that we should try out having a garden this year. Funny, seeing as how I can't seem to keep plants alive. But, we did buy fail proof (hopefully) plants. Peas, carrots, zucchini, squash, onions, and bell peppers. (Okay, maybe not completely fail proof.) Gerritt tilled up a small section of our yard, and put some compost in there too for good measure. I haven't quite gotten around to planting the seeds yet, but I guess it's okay considering the snow, and almost freezing temperatures we have had the past few days.

Silly me, I thought it was Spring. The flowers are out, and the rhododendron are starting to bloom. Apparently I missed the memo about Winter being extended this year. It snowed for a few hours Friday afternoon.

Welcome Spring! (Whenever it decides to come!)

Happy Easter!

Yes, I know that Easter was almost a week ago. I've been busy......don't hate!
So here is Abby's first Easter basket. The little chick chirps. I thought it was pretty cute!

But of course the first things that Abby reached for are the eggs!

Thanks Nana for the cute Easter dress. Purple is my favorite color!

Yum, eggs!

This already!?

So Abby has been pulling herself up for a week or so now, but usually just onto her knees. Yesterday she really surprised us by doing this......

Can you believe it? She'll be walking anytime now. I'm not ready for that.

8 months

Abby is 8 months old today(where has all the time gone?), and getting to be a very mischievous little girl. She is crawling all over the place, and today we resorted to buying a baby gate to keep her corralled to the living room.

She has also started to pull herself up. Her favorite thing to pull up to is the T.V., where she tries to unplug the A/V cables out of the T.V.
She is such a snuggle-bug, and likes to wrap herself up into her blankets.

Date Night

So last night was Friday night, and yet again Gerritt and I didn't have anything fun planned to do. We haven't been out on a "real" date for a few weeks, and last night we were really bored after dinner. We had a conversation that went something like this:

G: "So, what do you want to do tonight for date night?"

Me: "Ummmm, hadn't really thought that far in advance. What do you want to do?"

After a few more "I don't know, what do you want to do's," I jumped on the computer to see if there was anything fun going on around Seattle that we could try out.

In the meantime, Gerritt comes into the office/Abby's room while I'm looking. I don't see anything too exciting, and resort to iTunes for inspiration. Well, what do you know, stand up comedy by Brian Regan starts playing, and Gerritt asks me if we have any of his new stuff. (We saw him about a year ago at the Paramount Theatre.) We don't so I looked it up on the web, and found this.....

We watched Brian Regan clips on YouTube for "date night."
It turned out to be really fun!

What a VUE

I know, I know. It's been a while since I last posted anything. I haven't been too busy. Well, except for chasing after a really fast crawling Abby. She gets around pretty well these days, and is getting into all sorts of things. She's even bonked her head a couple of times on our entertainment center. OUCH!
In other recent news......We purchased a new vehicle last week. Our car had been leaking coolant for quite some time, and was getting to the point where we had to fill up before driving. Gerritt has been trying to pinpoint the leak for months now, and it finally got bad enough for him to find. The intake manifold had a big crack in it. Gerritt called around to find a new manifold, and was only able to order one throught the Saturn dealership. But, it would take a week to get in. We decided to get something new in the meantime since a new vehicle was in our budget for May. We looked at cars on the internet, and found a great deal. This is what we ended up with.....
A 2005 Saturn VUE!
I love it! I had to do a lot of pursuading to finally get an SUV, but I think it was well worth the effort. The more Gerritt drives it the more he likes it.
We did get the new intake manifold in for our other car, and Gerritt spent about 12 hours changing it out yesterday. He's pretty beat today. I must say that I'm very lucky to have a husband who knows how to fix all sorts of things.
