Just wanted to brag.....

I've been really out of the couponing lately. This pregnancy has been a rough one, and that is one of many things I've let go. But, this week's ad at Safeway was just too good to pass up. I got all this stuff for $24.20, and saved 83%!
Here's what I got:
2 Corn Pops
2 Corn Flakes
7 Quaker Oat squares cereal
10 Old Orchard frozen juices
15 boxes various Betty Crocker fruit snacks
1 box Kellogs fruit snacks
2 boxes Nutri-Grain bars
3 bags fresh express salad blend
1 2lb Tillamook cheese
2 bottles Marie's pourable dressing
and, 3 lbs red delicious apples.
(If any of you know how fast Gerritt goes through cereal you'll know that 11 boxes won't last long.)
Finally, a pay period since I got pregnant that I didn't go over budget! YES!

Big Girl Bed

Last year Gerritt bought me a sewing machine for Mother's Day. I begged him for it, so I could continue my journey in becoming the epitome of domesticity.  Alas, sewing and I are not friends. In the past ten months since Mother's Day, I have completed two projects. And have accumulated many unfinished or unstarted projects. One said project is a quilt for Abby. I wanted her to have something special for when she moved up to the "big girl bed." Since I didn't want to wait too much longer to transition her out of her crib, I decided to take her to Wal-Mart and find something that could be used right now. She picked out a very pink comforter, and now LOVES having her big girl bed! (We'll see how bedtime plays out later.)

Here are a few pics:

A LONG overdue update!

Well, it has been quite a long time since I last posted anything. So here's a quick re-cap (in pics) of our last couple of months!

I'm 22 weeks pregnant as of yesterday! We're having a BOY! This is the first belly pic I've taken so far....poor kid.

Abby finally has started to let me do her hair. Doesn't she look like a little girl now. (Where has all the time gone?) She even likes me to put make-up on her. (She only gets a tiny bit of light eyeshawdow, and the rest is all pretend.)

Abby got her first "real" haircut in January. It went really smoothly, but mostly because Abby is afraid of strangers.

We had a nice relaxing Christmas. I didn't feel up to doing anything too spectacular!

Abby got her very own camera! She still LOVES it two months later!

We all got PJ's on Christmas Eve.

Another big hit! Play-doh!

P.S. I'll try to stay on top of the blog from now on since (for the most part) my morning(anytime) sickness is gone. ;-)

FHE: Halloween Cookies

Abby's preschool class had a Halloween costume party day on Tuesday, and all the kids were asked to bring a treat to share. So, we decided to make Halloween sugar cookies for Family Home Evening.

Abby insisted on helping.....

She tried to pound the dough flat, so I introduced her to a new kitchen tool....

That rolling pin is almost as big as she is!

Having fun making shapes!
We had a really great time making cookies together!
(Even though the counters and floors were covered in flour!)
